Martin Cleaver
Martin’s early career focused on IT integration technologies. Serving major blue chip and top-tier finance organizations using large scale Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) technologies, Martin succeeded in positions as hard-core systems programmer, IT architect and Enterprise Integration team leader. In 2004, after taking a year to backpack around South East Asia, Martin used his MBA skills to refocus his attention to understand industries, company strategy and optimal motivation of the knowledge worker and what collaboration means to enterprise competitiveness.
Martin’s practice, Blended Perspectives Inc., addresses knowledge management objectives using social media practices. On the management side his work covers strategy, measurement and culture. On the technology side, his company’s activities include planning and deploying Enterprise 2.0 applications. Bringing together these viewpoints gives him a unique edge in delivering efficient, effective and agile knowledge management in large and dynamic organizations.
He has been consulting to the Wiki industry since 2001, and through this long-standing work he has achieved chair positions for WikiSym 2008 and WikiSym 2009, the International Conference on Wikis.
Martin has worked around the world for major consulting, financial and news media institutions in Hong Kong, UK, Spain, Australia and Canada. Martin holds a B.Sc. and MSc (1995) in Computing Science specializing in Distributed Systems, and an MBA (2005) specializing in Organizational Design. British born, he lives with his family in Toronto, Canada and is enjoying the world of being a new dad.
