Sierra Wireless is expanding the wireless world with a comprehensive offering of hardware, software, and connected services for mobile lifestyles. The company designs modems that enable PCs, laptop computers, and vehicles to communicate wirelessly. Its products are used for e-mail, Internet access, database access, vehicle dispatch, and a range of machine-to-machine applications.
The Challenge
In the beginning of 2009, Sierra Wireless, a predominantly North American company, announced their acquisition of Wavecom, a French based technology company. Confronted with how to deal with the challenges of mergers and acquisitions, Sierra Wireless needed to find a solution that would help merge the two organizational cultures with minimal resistance and difficulties. Wavecom, a 500 person company, was doubling the size of Sierra Wireless and adding three additional locations to total 7 major international locations in Europe, Asia and North America.
The Solution
Brainpark’s collaborative software helped Sierra Wireless’s global offices unite with Wavecom’s offices in France and Asia, allowing employees to connect with each other and build relationships.
