• This project seeks to examine and understand the neuroanatomical alterations that may be separately attributed to cannabis use and dependence, by collating and examining multi-site imaging datasets of regular chronic cannabis users from across the world. While previous neuroimaging studies of regular cannabis users have revealed aberrant anatomy and function in key brain regions that may mediate impaired emotion and cognitive functions in cannabis users, the studies have not always been consistent in their findings. This project attempts to overcome the limitations in sample size and generalizability of previous studies, in discerning the most consistent neuroanatomical alterations in cannabis users, in association with earlier onset, heavier use and dependence.
